In April 2023 the family went on a one week trip to visit our son who was currently doing a 4 month school term (Catolica) in Lisbon, Portugal.  We stayed in Alfama, which is a popular historic area on the southern tip of Portugal.  This was a great location since it’s a popular tourist and historic area.

The galleries I have for our trip are broken down into the sights we took in during our brief visit.  A few of the days was lots of walking around the Alfma area, one day we took the train to Cascais and another day we took the train to Sintra. Cascais was for a beautiful seaside lunch plus beach visit followed by a costal sunset scene and Sintra was a visit to the Palace of Pena and Quinta da Reglaira and it’s popular well.  Cascais is known for its beautiful beaches and ocean coastline.  Sintra is known for it’s amazing historic palaces. All are beautiful locations that are popular tourist destinations.  Taking the train was a fun, very affordable way of visiting Cascais and Sintra plus gave an opportunity to see some of the city outside of the tourist hot spots.
