During the early spring of 2025 my wife and I took a 12 day trip to Egypt, courtesy of Intrepid Tours. Using a service like Intrepid Tours was a fantastic way to explore a historically impressive and culturally different country than what we are accustom to. Our guide was amazing. He had a degree in History, spoke at least 4 languages, could read hieroglyphics while being a professional freelance guide for over 10 years. He was a walking encyclopedia on the historic locations we visited plus the cities, people and cultures we encountered. Our group consisted of 12 people (including ourselves) where we made new friends from Australia, England, Ukraine and Belgium. We lucked out with our guide, our fellow travellers and the weather (sunny and 30 degrees C every day). It was a very busy, nonstop trip where we went from the northern tip of Egypt in Alexandria to the most southern tip (Abu Simbel temple). The means of travel included in our tour (all while within the country of Egypt) were planes, trains and automobiles … with the addition of a 2 day Nile river boat cruise!
