Tobermory & the Bruce Penninsula

Summer 2019 my family did a couple day trip to the popular tourist area of Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula. A beautiful area to visit.  For our trip we went mid-week which we learned afterwards was a wise choice due to how busy this area can get on a weekend.  Google map link.

On this trip I took the Fuji X-T2 and the Fuji 16-55mm F2.8 lens. Continue Reading →

CUBA – Memories Resort in Holguin Province

Late January 2019 my wife and I took a one week vacation to Cuba. More specifically to the southeast corner of Holguin province. This was our first trip to Cuba. Flight and all bookings were done through Sunwing, a popular travel agency specializing in exotic southern locations.

Our trip to Holguin province entailed a week long stay at Memories resort and four unique outings. Excursion #1 was a 1/2 day catamaran cruise that took us to two shallow reefs for snorkeling followed by a fantastic seafood lunch at a private restaurant. Excursion #2 was a 3 hour experience that took us to a local market. Excursion #3 was a 1/2 day trip to the city of Holguin. Excursion #4 was a 1.5hr adventure where we walked from the resort (lead by a local guide) to a intricate cave system for some subterranean exploring. The photos I share in this post are from each of our experiences during our week in Cuba. Continue Reading →

Old Quebec City + Fuji XT2 with Canon 24/2.8 SCC and Minolta Rokkor 58/1.4

In September 2017 my wife and I went to Old Quebec City for a three day visit to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.  This was my first time to Quebec City and our goal while visiting was to focus on the popular tourist destination of the Old Quebec City district.

For this trip we took the VIA Rail train from Ottawa to Old Quebec City.  Taking the train is a great way to travel.  It is very comfortable, relaxing and quiet.  Our time going through both Ottawa and Quebec City train stations were very quick and enjoyable.  The route from Ottawa to Quebec City has several stops, so a one-way trip takes approximately six hours.  Six hours may seem like a long time, but on the ride back it gave me ample time to work on my laptop to cull and edit my photographs from our three day visit to Old Quebec City. Montreal City – Fuji XT2 + Fuji 10-24/F4

In the summer of 2016 my family went for a short sight seeing vacation to Montreal City.  Since this was our first trip to Montreal, we kept things simple by staying at a hotel downtown that was just a short walk from Old Montreal.

With camera in hand, I enjoyed searching for interesting architecture (of which there was plenty) and interesting vantage points.  For this trip I took a couple lenses however I found that I only used the excellent street/architecture/landscape lens, the stabilized Fuji 10-24mm F4.
